Headline

Beyer Racing was founded by entrepreneur Jeff Beyer.  Jared Beyer and Ricky Taylor will be Beyer Racing’s driving team.  Stephen Charsley is the team’s General Manager, with thirty years of experience in mechanical engineering and racing team leadership.  The team will participate in six of the races in the Rolex Grand-Am 2008 Series, and plan on a full racing schedule in 2009.

Jared Beyer - Team Driver

Jared Beyer has made an impressive start to reaching his ultimate goal of driving in Grand Am, NASCAR or the IRL― and at the age of 18 he has already been racing successfully for 6 years. Mentored by his entrepreneurial father, Jeff, both father and son are committed to a long-term, serious career in motorsports. And to succeed in professional racing, they plan on taking full advantage of their close family relationship, a mutual passion for performance, and Jared's well developed driving skills.

Jared Scott Beyer was born in San Antonio on October 27, 1989. From an early age, Jared participated in sports to hone his naturally competitive spirit.  In addition to track and field, he also played football, baseball, and basketball before finally deciding that a need for speed was his true calling.

Jared's driving career officially started when he was just 13. One Sunday afternoon, he and his father drove past a local kart track, and they were instantly hooked on racing. From that first day Jared made the decision to excel in karting, and he set his sights on a professional racing career.  True to his commitment, Jared quickly made a name for himself in regional road race karting.

The Texas-based Southwest Roadracing Association (SWRA) is regarded as the largest road racing organization in the International Kart Federation (IKF), and in 2005, Jared won the SWRA's TAG Junior Regional Championship, the TAG Junior 2 Regional Championship, and he was also named the "Most Valuable and Improved Driver". Additionally in 2005, Jared placed fourth in the SWRA's National Formula 80 Junior Championship, and he placed fourth in the 80 Junior Heavy Championship. In the 2006 season, Jared placed fourth in both the SWRA 125 Stock and the Formula 80 Senior Championship. In 2007, he competed in the Sports Car Club of America's Formula SCCA spec class at historic Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.

Coached by driving professionals Al Mitchell and Beaux Barfield of MSR Houston, and Le Mans and Daytona driving champion, Davy Jones, Jared is entering the Grand Am Rolex Series in 2008. His coaching team sees tremendous potential in Jared's driving abilities, and they admire his dedication to always perform at 110%.Jared owes a great deal to Al, Beaux and Davy, and he is ready to perform beyond their best expectations in the Grand Am series and also in select Indy Pro Series races.

Ricky Taylor--Team Driver

Ricky Taylor is the son of professional racecar driver, Wayne Taylor.  Ricky, age 18, started his racing career in go karts at the early age of ten. He won multiple karting endurance races and championships before stepping up to Skip Barber Racing in 2005.  In 2007, Ricky was crowned Skip Barber Southern Series Champion before sailing through the 14-race Skip Barber National Series scoring a pair of wins, a series-high five pole positions, and finishing second in the season-long championship. His five pole positions tied him with Scott Speed and Salvador Duran for second-most poles in a single season.

During the past year, Ricky’s skill has also been showcased in hundreds of testing laps, driving the No. 10 SunTrust Racing Pontiac Riley.  In January, Ricky finished fifth in the Rolex 24 at Daytona in the SunTrust Pontiac for his father Wayne Taylor's racing team.  Along with joining Beyer Racing for the Rolex Grand Am Series, Ricky is also racing in the IMSA Lites Series in 2008.
